Project underground station Hamburg "Überseequartier" Coated aluminium and stainless steel panels
The underground station "Überseequartier" is the first of two new stops on the line U4, which connects the new district "HafenCity" with the center of Hamburg.
This station will look like a swimming pool. Nine meter high walls, made of coated stainless steel and aluminum panels decorate the new station. The gradient from dark blue to light blue to chrome give the passenger the feeling to dive under water, when entering the station. A total area of 2.500m2, each consisting of 660 plates, is printed. The big challenge in this project is the seamless gradient of colors. At such a big area any irregularity immediately catches the eye.
The printed sheets are also covered with a special anti-graffiti coating.
